Why should you visit Costa Rica?
Due to the convergence of two hemispheres, two oceans, and its varied geography, Costa Rica has a large biological and habitat diversity, despite being a relatively small country. The chain of mountains that forms a back- bone down the length of Costa Rica start in the north with the mountain range in Guanacaste, continuing at Tilaran, location of Monteverde and the Arenal volcano, towards the Central Cordillera which includes the Irazu and Poás volcanoes and Braulio Carrillo park, ending with southern Talamanca, the highest mountain range in the country.

The country has a population of about 4 million people and an annual growth rate of approximately 2%. More than half live in San José and the neighboring highlands. Costa Rica boasts the third highest population density in Central America, 75 people per square kilometer, most of which are Caucasians of European and/or indigenous descent. The region has also a large percentage of African and Jamaican descendants from the late 19th century railroad workers, and make up about 2% of the total population.
